policies and procedures

Absence: Credits/refunds will not be given for absences.

Credits/Refunds: Memberships are not refundable or transferable. Program fees may be refunded up to one week prior to the session’s start OR if the YWCA cancels a program/class. After a session begins, a pro-rated YWCA credit will be issued for medical reasons only (physician’s note required.) There is no class reimbursement for time lost during fire drills or emergency evacuations. Credits are valid for 1 year and may be applied to any YWCA class/program and used by any family member. Credits cannot be applied to membership fees.
A $5 processing fee is applied to all credits/refunds; a $25 fee is applied to all returned checks.

Dressing: Use the appropriate locker rooms or barrier-free dressing areas. Changing in the restrooms is prohibited.

Evacuation: Complete building evacuation is required in case of a fire drill or emergency.

Guest policies: Swim members may purchase daily guest swim passes for $10. The Bolger Fitness Center offers $15 per day guest passes to non-members when accompanied by a BFC member and to YMCA and YWCA out-of-town members residing more than 50 miles from our facility. Limit 5 passes per person per year.

Late pickup: Due to the short length of preschool and children's classes, parents/guardians must remain in the YWCA facility for the duration of class. Any child not met at the end of class will remain with the instructor/authorized personnel as every effort is made to reach the parent or caregiver. The YWCA is required by law to contact DYFS (Division of Youth and Family Services) for any child not picked up within one hour after class ends.

Make-ups: Swim lesson make-ups are arranged at the Boys Locker Room office or by calling x302, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Make-ups are restricted to one per session, space permitting. No dance make-ups.

Parking: Private parking is available only while using YWCA facilities (State Statute 39:4-56:6).

Program aid: Financial assistance is available. Contact individual departments for applications.

Registering children: Individuals may register their own children and one non-related child whose parent must be a current member.

Showering: NJ-state law requires all swimmers to shower prior to entering pool.

Supervision for children under age 12: Your children’s safety is our priority!
• Parents/guardians supervision at all times. • Parent/guardian to accompany children for check in at locker room and with instructor. • Parent/guardian to remain in the building during children’s participation in classes and programs that run for an hour or less. Non-Compliance: Child will not be permitted to participate in class. No refund or make-up for missed class.

Transfers: Transfers can be made from one class to another within the session with instructor approval. Transfers must be handled in person at the HPS office. A $5 service charge applies.

Waiting Lists: Class sizes are limited. If a class is full you will be added to the waiting list and contacted by a program representative if space becomes available. Every effort is made to accommodate members.
